Jean Hirth of St. Thomas, Ontario went to her heavenly home, with her daughter and son-in-law at her bedside, on October 14, 2020 at the age of 92.  Jean grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was married to Joseph Van Beek.  Jean has four children:  Carol Van Beek of Los Angeles, California; David and his wife Doris Van Beek of Hull, Iowa; Edward and his wife Deb Van Beek of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Judi and her husband Ken Jackson of St. Thomas, Ontario. Grandma to Richard (Alina); Alana; Debbi (Bill); Deanne (Brian); Darcie (Jeremy); Emily (Jim); Alyssa (Nathaniel); Mark; Andi. Great Grandma to seventeen great grandchildren.  Jean was preceded in death by her infant twins; parents Henry and Sadie Oosterheert; grandson Douglas Van Beek; a sister and two brothers.

Jean loved to travel to visit her kids and grandkids and was thankful to have some of her family living in St. Thomas.Jean liked being outdoors in God's creation whether it was hiking or relaxing in a lawn chair.  She had a love for cats and was a volunteer for Animal Aide.  She enjoyed singing and playing her harmonica.  For the past ten years, Jean was lovingly cared for by the staff at Caressant Care.
