Obituary of Terry MURPHY

Terence “Terry” Murphy – passed peacefully at University Hospital, with family at his side, on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Linda (Green) for 54 years. Devoted father of Sandra of St. Thomas, Michael of Walkerton, Brian (Yvette) of St. Bruno, QC. Cherished grandfather of Marissa (Sam) Jeffery, Justin Evers, Zera, Jacob, Dylan, Drew, Devin and Aiden Murphy. Lovingly missed by brother Ken (Charlayne) Murphy and sister in law Elaine Murphy of Nova Scotia. Sisters in law Karen Watson, Peggy Olendy, Pat (Jack) Ker, Cathy (Sue Gardner) Green all of St. Thomas. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Catherine Murphy, brother, David Murphy and in-laws Bus and Donna Green. He will be missed by several nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Terry’s life will take place at a future date. Terry thoroughly enjoyed the years he shared with Linda and their children at Murphy’s Furniture. In retirement he dabbled in woodworking and spent a great deal of time with his family. Terry loved the time he spent volunteering at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital where he could “push people around and be thanked for doing it.” Anyone wishing to remember Terry is invited to make a donation to the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Fund.
